This video is all about experimenting with technique. I try to achieve a balance between the fast and slow paced sequences, all while paying attention to the rhythm and emotional junctures of the song. I also try to incorporate concepts to underly the aesthetic experience. The best example of that is the last sequence, which I model after the experience of observing the night sky. The second part of this sequence is meant to abstractly resemble what has been called the Sunflower Galaxy, or Messier 63. Building a representation of it out of flowers gets at the reality that the elements out of which they are composed originated in the nuclear furnaces of large stars and supernova explosions long ago. Ultimately the flowers and the stars are one in the same.
