A few years ago I unassumingly scanned a zucchini flower. I hadn't expected that it would lead to the creation of this film! There are a plethora of dimensions to how the zucchini flower and leaves desiccate. See them below and watch them in the film!

My favourite part about this shot is how you can see the pollen on the zucchini stamen.

The manner in which this male zucchini stamen approaches the scanner glass and then moulds (I think that's what happens!) is one of my favourite parts of the zucchini flower footage.

I had so much fun composing shots from within the huge zucchini video clip. Every way you look at it the intricate venation of its fused petals create wonderful scenes.

The zucchini flower offers a completely different kind of visual experience after it has desiccated and adhered to the scanner glass. Many parts of it become translucent, starkly contrasting its venation against a black backdrop!!

Another aspect of the zucchini flower that I love is the great borders created by the fused petals overlapping each other.

Seeing the differences in the same shot at different stages of the flower's desiccation underscores how interesting the zucchini flower's transition is!

Zooming out brings a different dimension to the

My favourite part about this spaghetti squash leaf (Cucurbita pepo var. fastiga) is how as it dries a magical patchwork effect is created!
